Dr Kate Dinkelmann Chiropractic - The Journey

Dr Kate Dinkelmann Chiropractic was founded by myself, Kate, in January 2022. This practice strives to better the lives of those in the community and neighboring areas. The benefits of chiropractic are something that I could go on about for ages, but the purpose of this first blog entry is to say hello and introduce myself.

In my early years, my family and I moved around a little bit as my dad was transferred within the corporate banking world. I lived in Empangeni until I was 2 years of age, then lived in Durban until I was 6. In 2003 we found ourselves in Botswana. A beautiful country. To this day I look back at those amazing memories I made as a child. In the bush and under the stars is definitely where my heart is at peace and my mind settled. Botswana is also where my love of chiropractic began. At age 8, the profession had already grabbed me after visiting the local practitioner. In 2007, we moved back to the hustle and bustle of Hillcrest where I attended Hillcrest High School and began my studies at the Durban University of Technology.

In high school and university I grew my passions for exercise and physical therapies. I captained the tennis team and took an interest in what the body can do. I therefore took interest in weight training, as well as yoga. I waitressed as most do when they exit school, but also trained as a sports massage therapist so I could practice with patients as much as I could prior to qualifying as a chiropractor. I worked a couple San2c's while studying and loved every second of it. Working as a team with my colleagues and learning about the common cycling injuries ignited the fire even more.

I love a small community, which is why one has to smile that I found my way into the close-knit community of Zululand. Prior to opening my practice in Ballito, for 5 years I frequently traveled to Gingindlovu to visit my partner. This being one of the many reasons why I decided to start my practice in Ballito. A lovely middle ground, a beautiful busy city, but close enough to the sugarcane. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time treating and getting to know the wonderful people of the North Coast.

Thank you for the warm welcome!
